How to reach the library
The Library is located inside the grounds of
the Montserrat Sanctuary, 50 km from Barcelona.
By Car
Access roads:
Barcelona-Igualada dual carriageway, exit at
Montserrat.
AP-7 motorway, exit at Martorell.
C-16 motorway, exit at Montserrat.
Barcelona-Terrassa motorway via the Vallvidrera
tunnels.
There is an onsite paying car park for those
arriving by car, which is run by the Patronat
de la Muntanya de Montserrat (Mountain of Montserrat
Trust).
Bus
Take the buses from the Julià company.
Departure from Sants bus station (Barcelona)
at 09:00. Return bus to Barcelona boards at
17:00 at Montserrat.
Train
Take the trains from the Catalan Government
Train Company (FGC), www.fgc.net,
from Plaça Espanya train station in Barcelona
to the l’Aeri de Montserrat station, or on the
‘Cremallera’ (rack train) to Monistrol de Montserrat,
leaving every hour.
The
Montserrat ‘Cremallera’
From the FGC station at Monistrol de Montserrat,
passengers may connect with the Monistrol-Vila
station, at which they may take the rack train
up to the Sanctuary. There are rack trains between
the Monistrol-Vila and Montserrat stations every
